The man in the top right corner is Simeon Hollister Calhoun, not Lucius Fox. Simeon was a cousin to the others through his mother's side.

The Civil War Letters of Samuel Jay Nettleton

These are exerts from the letters of Samuel Jay Nettleton, a farmer from Washington CT, who enlisted in the Union Army in 1861 along with six of his friends and relatives.

An exhibition, based on the diaries, letters and journals of the seven soldiers from Washington CT will open at the Gunn Museum on May 1, 2011.

The letters are a gift from his granddaughter Edith Nettleton.
